Vesperia - Yuri - rooftops

Title: Climber
Author: [personal profile] sincere
Canon: Tales of Vesperia
Spoilers: none
Characters/pairing: Yuri
Rating: all audiences
Warnings: none

He was a climber. Yuri liked to scale fences, trees, buildings; he preferred slipping in through windows rather than doors. As a child, he had lived to climb, at his happiest if he could sit at the edge of a rooftop, legs dangling over the edge.

He had no fear of heights, but he understood why other people might be afraid of them.

It made you realize how small your perspective really was when you sat on the ground, in your little room at the inn, doing your little unchallenging manual labor job, thinking your little self-absorbed thoughts, only existing.

I really like that analogy of rooftops and Yuri learning in his own way how to view the world and how contained a part of him would have always felt if he couldn't see from this height. It connects very well from the game when they would talk about views and how to ground vs. not forgetting yourself from different perspectives.

Nice work.
