It wasn't something he could explain to a bunch of kids, but old Raven had been with more people than he could count. Women, men, subordinates, superiors, strangers... For a long time he had thought that meaningless fornication would be a betrayal of her memory, and then for a long time after that, he had wondered if he could drown in it until he felt alive again.

He played to their expectations anyway. The dirty old man, grabbing at everything in a skirt, drooling over a little leg or impressive cleavage.

But skin didn't do much for old Raven anymore.

I love how you have this presence of Casey that Raven doesn't let go of as well as his discomfort to actually engage in anything intimate.

It also actually gives me this image of Raven's cold, heartless, body feeling mechanical compared to a warm heart beating body. Which makes it more depressing. X/

He's been through a lot and I enjoy thinking about it, sometimes, what it was like for him evolving from Damuron to Schwann to Raven, and how he goes through phases of trying different things to accommodate. But he's always trying the wrong things, and he knows that, but he's too tired and defeated to really try before he meets the party... But that's a lot for 100 words. X3 Someday I'll fic about it in full.

I like this. There was a pretty clear performative element to his perversion, in a lot of places in-game.

I agree. I think some characters saw through it more easily than others, but Raven puts on a big show, and the lechery is no different. It's part of his schtick, and although I don't doubt that those women in Dahngrest have been very satisfied ladies, we know that he's been dead inside for much longer than he's been entertaining any of them.

I think that's part of what makes Raven so compelling for me.

I really, really like this. It was kind of sad, but I thought this really shined some light on his persona, too.
