Van used to hold his hand when he fell. Lifting him up; Van always seemed so high Guy thought he could never fall.
How come I never see you ever fall Van?, The angry pout had settled.
Because I never let you., The older boy laughed.
A lifetime away Van always seemed so high as he stole childhoods, robbed expectations, and granted Guy the experience of staring into his dead sister's eyes again, only to see her die - again.
Van never did say he never fell, Guy just never bothered to look.
Guy cursed himself and washed his hands clean.
