The body is cold.

The weak flicker of candlelight was the only warmth in the room.

The commandant blew on the flame to encourage light to stay strong as he worked to force the same back into those cold - dark eyes.

I gave this to you, he speaks.

But only you can take it, he reaches out.

The flame flickers, those eyes grow colder.

Her dream was mine and it can be yours.

You, his words are embers for fire, are a knight!

Light settles in those eyes, ashes may be stirring.

As you wish.

Alexei blows the flame out.

Oooh... I like thinking of this point in time, and it's such an interesting little perspective on Raven's "resurrection".

Alexei's and Raven's relationship, particulary at this point, has always fascinated me. Ecspecially after reading Raven's novel summary you can see just how dead inside Raven was and how Alexei just got him walking again. Even if Raven wasn't exactly 'helped' per say. >_>

This is interesting! Alexei is good at motivating his soldiers, on some level.

That or taking advantage of them when they're at their lowest. XD

That's pretty much my view. After all characters do go on about Alexei being so great once. Plus he does seems to have this empathy that allows him to know how to work people (or his own soldiers at least) in getting them sympathize with him even when principles are getting lost.
