Gelda was his eldest. Jade and Nephry and Saphir were her first and only litter. Saphir had been the runt, and Peony had fed him with an eyedropper when Jade kicked him away from the teat too many times. Nephry had slept in his lap, tiny pointed hooves digging into his stomach.

He met Aslan on his first Imperial visit to Engeve, in the months after his coronation. Aslan chewed on his sandal straps, and when Peony picked him up, the ends of Peony's hair.

When his real Jade offered him Luke, Peony grinned and added him to the family.

I love this so much. I love Peony's rappig "harem", the family he makes and finds. I love Aslan pig chewing on Peony's sandals. I love Jade adding the Luke pig, that Jade also wants family.

Yeah, Jade offering Peony a Luke-piggy is pretty telling.

General Frings is so embarrassed that his namesake chews on the Emperor... hehe.
