He sat on the ground, in the shattered foundation of a house, arms folded over his knees.

He hated himself. He could remember unimportant things like the size of his estate, but he had forgotten this room, this fireplace, those brave women. It wasn't as if he'd had a choice, but forgetting what Mary had done for him...

There was a soft footstep behind him, but Guy didn't look up as Luke dropped down next to him. And slowly, Luke leaned against his shoulder like a lost child.

Guy closed his eyes, and thought, I won't forget about you, at least.
