Would it have been too hard for her? Would she have stopped him before it was too late? Would he have been happier than with a daughter who loved him but couldn't relate to him?

Judith turned her head, watching Rita, sleeping curled on her side, still.

Sometimes she wondered if a little sister would have made them both happier: made a small, broken family complete.

Love, love, loveee this. I love this idea. Their quasi-familial bond makes so much sense in the context of Hermes and. ;; You know Hermes and Rita would've been as thick as thieves.

Definitely. He'd have adored her. If I'd had more words, I would've played more with the idea of Rita being a replacement daughter for Judith before she settled on the idea of it really being most perfect as an additional daughter. ♥
