The dirty, naked slip of a girl snarls and pulls at her chains. Her eyes glow as they watch his every movement. She is ready to lunge, to rip his throat out with tooth and nail.
“She’s just a girl. Not a ghost or monster. Just a human girl. She is simply what all humans would be if we were stripped of the Score and of those careful masks we craft for the sake of society.”
He smiles. “She’s empty. I’d like to be the one to fill her.”
