Guy stared mournfully at the last of their shrimp, now in a sad, blackened pile next to the fire. "I can't believe you burned it."
"I didn't hear you volunteering to cook." Anise's cheeks were an embarrassed red, but there was an angry twitch starting above her eye. Luke winced and drew her away before she could really explode.
Guy didn't seem to notice. "Who knows when we're going to get back to Keterburg to get more," he muttered.
Natalia started to reach for his shoulder before thinking better of it. "We can swing by before we go to Belkend."
