"This is it," she said, slowly turning and gesturing at the room as if giving him the tour. Ioder stepped inside and peered left and right, taking in her room.
So this is the place where Miss Estellise spent almost all of her life, Ioder thought privately, thinking again of how rough it must have been on her to be so trapped, so isolated. It was an upbringing he could empathize with, although he hadn't shared in it.
But aloud he admired, "What a glorious view you have," and stepped up to view the countless colorful rooftops from her window.
