She wasn't sure how much time had passed, the clouds had stayed cleared from the sky all afternoon, allowing the golden rays of the sun to shine down unfiltered.
Heat sinking into the armor that covered his torso, it burned the inside of her forearm not covered by glove or sleeve when she brought her arm around his shoulders to steady him against herself.
Pressing her lips together, she let the sting run through her, refusing to leave him where he collapsed.
He didn't give up until he got her out of that cell and she wouldn't give up either.
