Title: Aftermath
Author:
solerika
Canon: Tales of the Abyss
Spoilers: End-game spoilers and epilogue speculation.
Characters/pairing: Asch, Luke.
Rating: All audiences.
The conflict isn't obvious when we stroll down the hall, our gaits similar enough that it doesn't interfere. The real difficulty starts when we need to wield my sword or decide on which hand to hold the fork in. Everyone can see our internal struggle at the dinner table - they must be able to, the silverware biting into my palm as I try to sort out our mind. But they never say anything, not even Mother, though our perception is not so dulled as to miss her concern.
This wasn't the end she had wanted.
Nor was it ours.
